Protein synthesis inhibitors cyclohexamide and anisomycin (CHX) were added to stage 52-54 tadpoles 1 h before the addition of 50 nM T3. The treatment was continued for another 12 h before RNA was isolated from intestine for RNA blot analysis using Xhh or rpL8 as a probe. Ribosomal markers, 28S and 18S, are indicated on the left.
