Fig 5. Xl-VSP protein is expressed on the lumenal surface of adult kidney tubule epithelial cells.(A) Adult kidney sections were stained with anti-VSP and anti-mouse IgG-Alexa 488. Xl-VSP staining is observed on the lumenal surface (marked with arrowheads) of the kidney tubules (two outlined in white). This surface corresponds to the apical membrane and not the basolateral membrane of the epithelial cells. (B) Apical membrane staining was not seen on a consecutive section in the absence of anti-VSP primary antibody. IHC was repeated on sections from kidneys of three different adult males.
