(B) At tail bud stages (stage 30, 35hpf) all differentiated myeloid cells (MPO, Elas1, L-plastin) derive from the dorsal marginal zone (DMZ) indicating their anterior hemangioblast origin. At this stage, the ventral marginal zone (VMZ) contains myeloid precursors (SpiB) but no migrating mature myeloid cells.
