Low magnification image of lung tissues. A visceral pleura forms the outer surface of the lung. Note the invaginations of the lung surface. Bronchi are identified by the presence of the basophilic hyaline cartilage. Bronchioles are identified by the presence of smooth muscle and lack of alveoli.
