Research Description:
Our main focus is embryonic renal development. In particular, we focus on the molecular control of embryonic kidney development and morphogenesis, using both conventional embryology and advanced live cell imaging. We also use Xenopus as a translational tool to understand how human genetic diseases such as nephronophthisis or congenital anomalies of the kidney and urinary tract (CAKUT) interfere with renal development.
