Research Description:
Our group studies the development of the nervous system. We are interested in the following questions. How does the nervous system originate in the embryo? How does it grow to the right size and shape? How do precursor cells differentiate into a particular cell types? To answer these questions, we focus on the neural retina in the zebrafish eye, which is the ideal model system to study the mechanisms that underlie these processes.
