AI Protein Function : The paip1 gene encodes poly(a)-binding protein-interacting protein 1, which functions in cytoplasmic translation initiation by interacting with the cytoplasmic poly(a)-binding protein 1 (pabpc1) to facilitate the recycling of ribosomes. It is involved in regulating mrna stability and translational efficiency. This protein is localized to the cytoplasm. Expression is documented in the brain, eye, neural tube, and spinal cord.
