Job Description

Postdoctoral Position in the Jumping Frog Lab in University of Rochester, NY, USA Two postdoctoral positions are available in the laboratory of Dr. Jacques Robert in the department of Microbiology and Immunology, University of Rochester NY (https://www.urmc.rochester.edu/labs/robert.aspx), to join a cohesive, dynamic and interactive research team studying the evolution, development and function of nonclassical MHC and innate T cells in tolerigenic immune responses against pathogens such as viruses and mycobacteria using the amphibian Xenopus as experimental organism. The project involves genomics, transcriptomics, recombinant protein design and expression, and reverse genetic approaches (CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing and RNA interference by transgenesis) as well as intravital imaging. The candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in the supervision of students and in the management of the Xenopus laevis Research Resource in Immunobiology (https://www.urmc.rochester.edu/mbi/resources/xenopus-laevis/). Qualifications: Candidates should have a Ph.D. in the fields of molecular biology, immunology, or microbiology. Preference will be given to highly motivated, innovative, and interactive applicants with strong background in molecular biology, who published a first-author paper as a result of their graduate work.
