UniProtKB Protein Function: Signal-recognition-particle assembly, binds directly to 7S RNA and mediates binding of the 54 kDa subunit of the SRP.

AI Protein Function : The gene srp19 encodes a signal recognition particle protein that is a component of the ribonucleoprotein complex responsible for the cotranslational targeting of secretory and membrane proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum. It localizes to the cytoplasm and is involved in the assembly of the signal recognition particle. Expression is detected in the oocyte and throughout early embryonic development.
