UniProtKB Protein Function: Regulatory subunit of the condensin-2 complex, a complex which establishes mitotic chromosome architecture and is involved in physical rigidity of the chromatid axis.

AI Protein Function : The ncapd3 gene encodes a condensin complex subunit protein that functions in chromosome condensation during mitosis. It localizes to the nucleus and is involved in cell cycle progression and proper segregation of chromosomes. Expression is observed in proliferating tissues including the neural plate, eye, branchial arches, and somites during embryonic development.
