In the course of its major public releases since 2008, the number of terms in the ontology has grown by 87% and the number of part_of and develops_from relationships has substantially increased. The majority of terms in the initial release lacked definitions and is_a parents, while the latest release (October 9, 2013) is definition- and is_a-complete.
