Pituitary gland. The pituitary gland is comprised of the adenophyophysis, which contains the pars distills and pars intermedia, and the neurohypophysis, which contains the pars nervosa and median eminence, The pituitary gland is attached to the hypothalamus by the infundibular stalk.
