Low magnification of a sagittal section of a frog head, containing the pituitary gland. The pituitary gland (hypophysis) is attached to the floor of the diencephalon of the brain by an infundibular stalk. It receives hormonal signals from nuclei of the hypothalamus, which control the secretion of hormones from the pituitary gland.
